On Saturday before we left we traveled about an hour outside Guatemala City to the former capital of Guatemala, Antigua. The cobblestone streets were a bit rough on the stroller, but we got to see four churches with in the 14 block city. Being that that it is almost Easter the city was packed, getting ready for Semana Santa. The churches make rugs (more like sand paintings really) out of flowers, seeds and sand. Eventually the streets will be lined with them. There is a procession everyday, and you'd better believe that sometime next week some one will be dragging a cross around town. It was really pretty amazing.
