Here are the latest photos of Lotus and once again her foster mom has gone crazy with the ponytails. We are in the home stretch of the adoption process (otherwise known as the dreaded PGN) and hope that with in the next week the adoption will be finalized. Then she will be legally ours, but still needs to get a visa and passport from the Embassy before she can come home. I will probably travel to Guatemala once the adoption is finalized and Nate will join me once we have our final embassy appointment to bring her home.
This last stage is so hard and even though it should all happen relatively soon, there can be delays so everyone keep your fingers crossed.

The Marriott Hotel pool area was perfect for relaxing and once we figured out we could rent a stroller Lotus Maria was considerably happier as well. She had a particular affinity for the sound of running water and loved watching and hearing all the other kids. Nate and I particularly enjoyed seeing the sun, which has been a rare site in Northern California these days. The stress of being parents for the first time was alleviated by the pool side vacation atmosphere.
