Mexico

The beginning of June we took a much needed family vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It was so great to get away and spend time together as a family. Lotus did great on the flights and we were thrilled to escape the San Francisco fog.
Cabo San Lucas is beautiful, but really touristy, a far cry from some of our past travels, but Lotus loved the kiddie pool and it was warm day and night so who can complain. We had a car and took a few day trips and were able to escape Cabo Wabo for some areas a bit more our speed.

We trekked an hour north to Todos Santos for a day. Todos Santos is a beautiful artsy town, most famously known as the home of the Hotel California. It was a pretty sketchy drive out there. I had to drive, because we rented a Jeep with a manual transmission and Nate can't drive a stick. In the past I would have loved the adventure of almost being run of the road by the work trucks, but when your child is in the car with you, that excitement gets replaced by fear pretty quickly. We obviously made it in one piece and the few passing glances I took out the window showed some pretty lovely scenery. It was worth it to get to Todos Santos and stroll through the lovely town.

Our days in Cabo were very scheduled. After breakfast we went to the beach and after lunch Lotus made it very clear that she wanted to go to the pool. And though Cabo was definitely on the cheesy side, Lotus loved some of the cheesiness. Especially the horrible band that played on the beach one night. She danced and danced in the sand for hours.
